Philipp M. Gemmel, assistant professor of chemistry, recently was awarded a research grant from the American Chemical Society (ACS), Green Chemistry Institute Pharmaceutical Roundtable (GCIPR).
The Trinity College community will see some familiar locations in the new streaming series The Artist, premiering on The Network on November 27. The series was filmed last year at various sites in Connecticut, including Trinity’s distinctive campus.
Megan Crutcher, Ann Plato Postdoctoral Fellow in History, has received a grant from the Institute of Nautical Archaeology for the project, "Where Trees Meet the Tide: Documenting Traditional Watercraft Construction in Liberia, West Africa.”
As part of this year’s focused efforts to strengthen a thriving first-gen community at Trinity, the College recently hosted its first National First-Gen Students Day programming, bringing together students, staff, faculty, and alumni.
Benedicte Baile ’25 and Alexander Cacciato ’26 each received a $10,000 Projects for Peace grant to implement projects to promote their visions of peace last summer. They recently shared updates with Trinity students, faculty, and staff about their global outreach endeavors.

Jessica Cruz ’26 was announced recently as a recipient of the 2025–26 Newman Civic Fellowship from Campus Compact. The fellowship is a yearlong program that recognizes students for their leadership potential and commitment to creating positive change in communities.
Trinity College’s Leonard E. Greenberg Center for the Study of Religion in Public Life recently presented the 2025 Moses Berkman 1920 Memorial Journalism Award to Chana Joffe-Walt, a radio journalist and producer for This American Life.
Trinity College President Emerita Joanne Berger-Sweeney and her family funded the design and creation of a new stained-glass window in the Trinity College Chapel. It is a gift to the College that Berger-Sweeney hopes will be appreciated by generations to come.

Trinity College’s Fall Weekend 2025 welcomed alumni and families to campus on October 17 and 18. The celebration of Bantam spirit served as a combined Homecoming Weekend and Family Weekend.
