Professional Development Assistance Grants

The Exempt Staff Council (ESC) provides grants to members of Trinity’s Exempt Staff who are looking for assistance paying for a professional development opportunity.   If you are interested in attending a conference, workshop, webinar, seminar, networking event, or want to purchase books or training materials and have found that your department budget cannot cover the expense, let us know.  We may be able to help!

Eligibility: Full-time, exempt staff at Trinity College 

Maximum amount awarded: $500 per person per academic/fiscal year (July 1, 2025-June 30, 2026) 

Grants available for 2025-2026: ~4 

Deadlines for application: There will be two cycles of consideration for applications.

• The first deadline is November 17, 2025
• The second deadline (for any remaining funding) is April 6, 2026

ESC will meet shortly after these deadlines to vote on the applications, and then applicants will be notified as to their status. 

Additional information: 

• Priority will be given to exempt staff who have not yet received an assistance grant. 

• The grant will be treated as reimbursement, or ESC can make appropriate purchases on one’s behalf (depending on one’s needs and the vendor).  

• Award amounts and conditions are evaluated each year due to annual budget and experience from previous years.
