Trinity Faculty Organize and Present at the Workshop “Alternative Macroeconomic Theories: Developing Countries and Turkey”
Professors Hasan Cömert and Betül Mutlugün co-organized the workshop titled “Alternative Macroeconomic Theories: Developing Countries and Turkey”, which took place at Middle East Technical University (METU) in Ankara on July 26–29, 2025. The four-day event brought together scholars working on structural, institutional, and other pluralist approaches to economic development, with a particular emphasis on the challenges faced by developing countries and the Turkish economy.
Alongside their contributions to the organization of the workshop, Professors Mutlugün and Cömert also delivered mini-lectures based on their research. Professor Mutlugün spoke on Kaleckian Distribution and Growth Models: Alternative Extensions for Developing Countries, while Professor Cömert presented Endogenous Money Theory and Its Limits in Developing Economies. The workshop provided a valuable platform for scholarly exchange and highlighted Trinity’s active role in international research networks.
