Latin Club at HMTCA

The Latin Club at Hartford Magnet Trinity College Academy (HMTCA)

Each week, Trinity students visit Hartford Magnet Trinity College Academy (HMTCA), a public school across Broad Street from the Trinity College campus, to lead the Latin Club. Trinity students design and implement activities to help middle and high school students learn about the ancient Mediterranean world in a fun way.

The club is run by Trinity students enrolled in LATN 105, “Latin in the Community,” and students who participate as volunteers. “Latin in the Community” provides Trinity students with an opportunity to engage in critical examination of the activities they develop and run at HMTCA and to discuss articles about Latin pedagogy that may inform their work.
