October 13–15 is a busy weekend in the Hartford area! In addition to the Bicentennial Fall Weekend, runners will gather in Hartford for the 30th running of the Eversource Hartford Marathon and the US Men’s National soccer team will host Germany for a match at Pratt & Whitney Stadium at Rentschler Field in East Hartford.  

While this makes for an exciting weekend to be on campus, we know it may impact your travel plans. To help you prepare for your visit, we’ll update this page with everything you need to know before you get here. Check back often for updates.

Our partner hotels welcome individual reservations from alumni and families, but due to the high volume of travelers in the area, are unable to offer room blocks or special negotiated rates for the Bicentennial Fall Weekend. 

Getting to Campus 

On October 14, 2023 road closures for the 2023 Eversource Hartford Marathon may impact your travel to campus. Road closures will begin at 7:30 a.m. and remain throughout the city of Hartford and surrounding towns until 2:00 p.m.   

To avoid these road closures, we recommend using these directions for traveling to campus. 

Parking 

On-Campus Parking
On-campus, legal parking spaces are available to attendees throughout the weekend unless marked as reserved for a specific audience. View this map of parking lots on campus available to guests.

Accessible Parking
ADA-accessible parking is available in various locations on campus and are reserved for guests with disabled parking permits. Guests parking in ADA-accessible spaces who require assistance moving to and from events on campus may request a golf cart by calling Campus Safety Dispatch: 860-297-2222

Koeppel Community Sports Center Parking
Parking is available behind the Koeppel Community Sports Center at 175 New Britain Avenue Hartford. Shuttle service is available on Saturday, October 14 between the Koeppel Community Sports Center and the Mather Hall Circle Driveway.

Learning Corridor Garage
Additional parking is available at the Learning Corridor Garage located at 359 Washington Street, Hartford. The Learning Corridor Garage is open on Saturday, October 14 from 7:00 a.m.–midnight. Shuttle service is available between the Learning Corridor Garage and the Mather Hall Circle Driveway.

Parking Shuttle
Shuttle service to and from campus is available for the Koeppel Community Sports Center and the Learning Corridor Garage on Saturday, October 14 from 8:00 a.m. to 9:50 p.m.
