This year’s cohort of President’s Fellows includes some of Trinity’s most accomplished seniors. These 32 student scholars from the Class of 2027 have compiled exemplary academic records in their years at the College.
In the fall semester, each academic department or program is invited to nominate a senior who demonstrates outstanding scholarly achievement within their major, along with evidence of wide-ranging intellectual interests.
In a letter to the Fellows notifying them of the honor, Trinity College President Daniel G. Lugo said, “Your nomination is a testament to the intellectual curiosity, dedication, and engagement you have demonstrated throughout your time at Trinity College.”
Established in 1974, the Society of President’s Fellows has a long tradition of bringing students and the president of the College together for conversations about academic life and other matters of importance to the Trinity community. The Fellows also have made lasting contributions to the College’s intellectual life. In 1981–1982, eight Fellows founded The Trinity Papers, an annual journal of undergraduate scholarship, and members of the Society continue to serve as its editorial board.
“As a President’s Fellow, you now become part of this distinguished tradition of student scholarship, leadership, and engagement,” Lugo’s letter said.
The president and TinaMarie Lugo will welcome the Fellows to their home for a reception this fall. The Fellows also will be invited to engage with one another and with members of the College’s leadership in the spring semester.
