Scott Lessne ’80

Scott Lessne serves as senior counsel of the financial services and corporate practice groups at Crowell & Moring LLP, where he also chairs the firm’s commercial finance and lending team. His responsibilities include representing financial institutions and corporate clients in the negotiation and documentation of a wide range of transactions, advising clients on complex loan workouts and restructurings, and counseling financial institutions on creditors’ rights and remedies. Lessne has expertise across the financial services, health care, energy, and hospitality industries. He previously served as an assistant general counsel of FleetBoston Financial Corporation and as general counsel of CapitalSource Bank.
Lessne earned a B.A. in economics from Trinity, where he was a member of the Guild of Carillonneurs, and a J.D. from Western New England University School of Law, where he was the research editor of the Western New England Law Review. As a Trinity alumnus, he has served as vice president and then president of the Trinity College Alumni Association, as vice president of his class, as a class agent, and on several Reunion committees. He also serves on his law school’s Dean’s Advisory Council and is a member of the Editorial Board of The Business Lawyer journal. In addition, he previously served as board president of the Hartford Conservatory and of the Association of Commercial Finance Attorneys, as a regent of the American College of Commercial Finance Lawyers, and as vice chair of the Glastonbury (CT) Town Plan and Zoning Commission.
Lessne and wife Deborah Lessne ’82 live in Bethesda, Maryland.
