The process of switching the campus from cooling to heating will begin on Friday, October 10, and will take approximately 10-14 days to complete. Please note: Multiple buildings and systems need to be changed over and as such, some buildings will be switched over before others.
Weather in the Fall can significantly fluctuate from hot to cold within a matter of days. The physical plant that supplies heating to the campus operates on a two-pipe system that cannot be switched on and off from air conditioning to heat without significant adjustments. The physical plant staff carefully monitors temperatures and recommends when to convert from air conditioning to heating, and Friday October 10 was the start date selected to do the changeover.
