Campus Safety would like to remind everyone to keep themselves informed of the winter storm and anticipate weather-related changes/interruptions to college events and services. Please check with the appropriate department or organization if you have questions about schedule changes.
The Hartford Police Traffic Division and Department of Public Works have expressed difficulty with on-street, curbside parking along Summit St., Crescent St. as well as Allen Place. Residents must move their cars off the street and park in the interior parts of the campus. The diagonal lots along Summit Street are not a part of the ban. Students are encouraged to park in the lot on Vernon St. closest to Sheppard Field and should refrain from parking in Jarvis and Seabury lots.
Residents whose vehicles are towed during the parking ban should contact the Hartford Police Department at (860) 757-4000. Please visit http://www.hartfordct.gov for a list of snow emergency parking locations, and for information regarding towed vehicles.
If there is a loss of power, remember candle use is not permitted in residential halls. When walking around campus, please take care to stay on plowed paths and park only in areas that have been cleared. Do not park atop snowbanks or in fire lanes.
Students are reminded that if they park in the interior parts of the campus, they should plan to move their cars from faculty and staff parking areas no later than 8 a.m. on the weekday after the ban.
Campus Safety requests for rides will be limited to medical emergencies only.
