AHIS 246: Art in the Age of Absolutism

Want to learn more about how art serves power?  Come experience firsthand the disturbing realism of Caravaggio, the theatricality of Bernini and Rubens, and the unbridled ambition of Europe’s absolutist rulers in the seventeenth century. This course includes trips to Hartford’s famous Wadsworth Atheneum museum and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City and meets the Arts Requirement.  For more info contact [email protected].
