Photo Gallery: Trinity College Chapel Hosts Annual Christmas Festival of Lessons and Carols
The 66th annual Trinity College Christmas Festival of Lessons and Carols marked the beginning of the 2025 holiday season for the Greater Hartford community. The two free services on Sunday, December 7, at 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. were offered to all as a moment of comfort and hope. The traditional program included anthems sung by the choirs as well as Christmas carols for all to sing. A freewill offering was collected to support local initiatives and students in need.
This year’s program featured: The Chapel Singers, celebrating the group’s 200th anniversary and premiering a new piece by Trinity’s composer in residence, Robert Edward Smith; the Trinity College Gospel Choir; a professional string quartet; Ellen Dickinson, College Carillonist; Elijah Morris ’28 and Chris Yi ’26, Organists; Christopher Houlihan ’09, Director of Chapel Music; The Very Rev. Marcus George Halley, Chaplain to the College; and The Right Reverend Jeffrey W. Mello, 16th Bishop Diocesan, The Episcopal Church in Connecticut.
