At Trinity College’s community garden and around campus, students have helped prepare flower and plant beds for the winter ahead.
The Trinfo community garden on Broad Street is finishing its growing season having provided a variety of produce throughout the summer for area residents and College staff and students who tended its 42 plots. The garden serves as a space for student learning and engagement, while also supporting urban farming to expand access to fresh produce in Hartford. In recognition of its community benefit, the community garden this year received support through the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving program “Hartford Love Your Block” grant program.
Separately, as part of Trinity’s focus on sustainability, some first-year students got their hands dirty in the flower beds on the LSC quad during orientation.
