How to Apply
Are you interested in studying abroad or on a US-based program for a full semester or year? Maybe a J-Term or Summer is a better fit. Explore the options below to learn about your next steps.
Semester Petition Process
Students have the option to submit a petition if they wish to study on a unique program not included on our list of Affiliated Global Program. Students may also petition for approval due to a low GPA or final semester of their senior year.
Study Abroad or US-Study for J-term
Short-term J-term programs are available through many Affiliate Global Programs (AGPs). Occasional J-term programs led by Trinity faculty may also be offered on an occasional basis.
Study Abroad or US-Study for Summer
Short-term summer programs are available through many Affiliate Global Programs (AGPs). Occasional summer programs led by Trinity faculty may also be offered on an occasional basis.
ALL STUDENTS MUST HAVE A VALID PASSPORT TO TRAVEL ABROAD.
If you do not currently have a passport we strongly recommend that you begin that process as soon as possible. Don’t wait until after you have applied for your program as there can be processing and/or mailing delays.
If you already have a passport, check the renewal date. Most countries require that passports be valid for 6 months after your RETURN date. For example, if your study abroad program ends in December your passport should be valid until the following June. You will need to renew your passport if it is due to expire within 6 months of your departure date. As with applying for new passports, we strongly recommend that you apply for a renewal as soon as possible.
US CITIZENS: Passport application processing time is roughly 2 – 3 months. Visit the US Department of State website to begin the process now.
INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS: If you need to renew your passport, we strongly encourage you to review your home countries’ renewal process/timelines and plan accordingly. Also, depending on your home country and immigration status in the US, you may need to renew your US Visa before you can study abroad.
