Professional Conference Presentations

This fund is available for conference expenses for students who are the presenting author for research that they have conducted at Trinity College. Eligible expenses are reimbursable at the rate of 100 percent of transportation costs and registration fees and 50 percent of lodging up to a maximum of $1,000 per student while funding is available. Attendees who are not presenting authors are not eligible for this fund. To make this opportunity accessible to as many students as possible, support is limited to one conference per student per academic year.

Departments with specific funding for student experiences are encouraged to use those funds rather than having students apply to the limited funding available.

Requests for support should be submitted 30 days prior to the conference. All requests must include an individual letter of recommendation from the sponsoring faculty member.

To apply, interested students should submit the online Travel Request Form for consideration by the Associate Director of the Center for Academic and Experiential Advising.

Student Travel Guidelines

All students studying, conducting research, or doing other college-sponsored activities in a country with a U.S. State Department Travel Warnings must submit a signed waiver (a parent must also sign) along with their requests for funding. In addition, all students whose travel includes countries with travel warnings must contact Rebecca Hovey, senior director of the Office of Study Away, to discuss the warning, as well as health and safety conditions in the country. All students traveling abroad should also sign up through the Office of Study Away for International SOS, which includes comprehensive medical coverage, including emergency medical evacuation and evacuation for political unrest, etc. This is an inexpensive plan designed to assist students traveling abroad and is very important to have.
