Trinity F1RST is designed to ensure our first-generation Bantams don’t just arrive at college—they thrive. We connect them with tailored resources and proactive supports from day one, bridging the gap between high school and reaching their full college potential. More than a program, Trinity F1RST is a movement dedicated to honoring the strength and achievements of our first-gen community.
Who are first generation students? Trinity College defines a first-generation college student as generally someone whose parent(s) or legal guardian(s) have not completed a four-year college degree. This can include students whose parents attended some college but did not earn a bachelor’s degree, as well as those whose parents completed an associate’s degree, trade program, or earned a degree outside the U.S. that is not equivalent to a four-year degree.
Trinity F1RST Scholars will enjoy a 5-day (August 29–September 2) highly valuable and interactive skills-based program designed to prepare new, first-generation students—the first in their families to complete a four-year degree—to transition smoothly and use resources effectively from their launch in college. Together, we’ll cultivate the high-impact practices that yield first-gen student academic, social, and co-curricular success!

As a first year, there have been many notable experiences for me . . . Being in The F1RST orientation program was one of the best decisions I ever made. It gave me a great environment to learn, make best friends I still talk to today, go on memorable trips and helped me be confident that I belonged at Trinity
