Demonstrating valuable return on investment and continued alumni success, Trinity College has earned recognition this fall from multiple media outlets and college guides, including an elevated ranking at #31 on the 2027 U.S. News & World Report list of Top National Liberal Arts Colleges.
Trinity’s rise on that list marks an upward movement of six spots—the second-greatest year-over-year gain of all schools in the top 40. On the U.S. News list of Top Private Schools–National Liberal Arts Colleges, Trinity is tied at #28.

According to the data used by U.S. News in its analysis of student outcomes, Trinity is ranked 12th by its graduates’ earnings by major, which is a new metric considered by U.S. News this year.
The College also appeared on the U.S. News lists of the top undergraduate engineering programs at non-doctoral institutions, the top undergraduate economics programs, and the top undergraduate psychology programs. Notably, Trinity remains a Best Value School and a Top Performer on Social Mobility among national liberal arts colleges, according to U.S. News.
David Andres ’04, associate vice president and chief data and analytics officer at Trinity, said that the U.S. News metric focusing on graduates’ earnings by major replaced data about graduates’ federal loan debt, which the publication had used previously. “The addition of earnings outcomes highlights an area where Trinity continues to excel,” Andres said. “Our graduates consistently demonstrate strong career outcomes, and we expect to remain competitive among our peers. As a result, Trinity’s outcomes rankings have been on an upward trajectory for several years.”
Other rankings this year also featured Trinity among the nation’s top colleges for outcomes, perception, and academic programs, painting a strong picture of competitive value.
On LinkedIn’s Top Colleges 2026 list, which ranks the 50 best colleges for long-term career success in the U.S., Trinity was named the #5 liberal arts college in the nation and the #2 school amongst its New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) peers. Trinity landed at #36 in the nation when measured against long-term career outcomes for all higher education institutions, including large elite universities. Last year, Trinity was ranked nationally at #42. LinkedIn focuses its rankings on career outcomes based on job placement, internships and recruiter demand, career success, network strength, and knowledge breadth.
As recognized by U.S. News and LinkedIn, Trinity’s alumni achieve exceptional positive outcomes each year. A survey of the graduates from the Class of 2025 found that 98 percent of graduates from the Class of 2025 reported securing jobs, enrolling in continuing education, or finding other meaningful “first destinations” within six months of their graduation.
According to the U.S. Department of Education College Scorecard, the median yearly income of former Trinity students who received federal aid four years after graduating from the College is $83,645. The midpoint for four-year colleges is $60,377, meaning that the yearly income of Trinity graduates is 38.5 percent higher than the national average.
The Princeton Review included Trinity on its unranked list of The Best 392 Colleges: 2027 Edition. In this publication, Trinity was named among the Top 50 Best Value Colleges (Private Schools) and also appeared on the unranked lists of Best Value Colleges, Best Northeast, and Green Colleges.
This year, TIME issued its inaugural rankings of 500 colleges across the United States—America’s Best Colleges 2026-2027—on which Trinity College earned a spot in the top 100.
Niche, a popular college search source, ranked Trinity at #51 on its 2027 list of Best Liberal Arts Colleges in America. Trinity was named by Niche as the #33 Best College for Public Policy in America and the #63 Best College for Global Studies in America.
Trinity also landed on the top 100 on Forbes’ America’s Top Colleges list, rising from #88 to #74. Additionally, Money placed Trinity on its Best Colleges in America 2026 list, which is unranked.
In September 2026, Trinity received its fourth consecutive Higher Education Excellence and Distinction (HEED) Award from Insight Into Academia magazine, the oldest and largest publication focused on best practices in higher education. The HEED Award recognizes U.S. colleges and universities that demonstrate an outstanding commitment to academic excellence, belonging, and community-building across all levels of campus life.
