The following four campus values guide how we live, learn, and work together at Trinity.

  • Access: Ensuring all community members have fair treatment, access, and opportunities for success, while identifying and eliminating barriers that prevent full participation
  • Belonging: Building and sustaining a culture where every person is valued, accepted, and empowered to contribute to the campus community in productive, positive ways
  • Connection: Intentionally creating and seeking opportunities for meaningful relationships through shared Trinity and Hartford experiences
  • Curiosity and Open Inquiry: Fostering a culture that values freedom of thought, curiosity, dialogue, and respectful critique and inquiry

These values reflect what we collectively believe should shape our daily interactions, our decision-making, and our responsibilities to one another. They are not simply abstract ideals or aspirational language; they are practical guideposts that support Trinity’s enduring mission and help translate our institutional purpose into everyday practice.

Shaped through months of conversations, surveys, and working sessions, these values reflect the contributions of more than 600 students, faculty, and staff engaged in a collaborative process of listening, reflection, and shared purpose.
