Exhibit Opening: “Taking the Trade”: Abortion in America from the Colonies to Criminalization

Please join us in Raether Library at 4:15 on Friday, February 17th for the opening reception of Watkinson Library’s new exhibit “Taking the Trade”: Abortion in America from the Colonies to Criminalization. Featuring materials drawn from Watkinson Library, the Hartford Medical Society, and the Connecticut State Library, this exhibit aims both to educate and to prompt deeper reflection about efforts to control women’s reproductive decisions. Exhibit curator Eric Johnson-DeBaufre will talk briefly about the inspiration behind the exhibit, after which visitors will have an opportunity to view it. Refreshments will be served.
