{"id":216,"date":"2019-10-24T15:12:44","date_gmt":"2019-10-24T19:12:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.trincoll.edu\/lits\/?page_id=216"},"modified":"2026-07-21T18:31:09","modified_gmt":"2026-07-21T18:31:09","slug":"network","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.trincoll.edu\/tdi\/support-center\/network\/","title":{"rendered":"Wifi and VPN"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Wifi<\/h2>\n<h3>Laptops, desktops, IPads and phones:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Network: eduroam<\/li>\n<li>Identity: username@trincoll.edu<\/li>\n<li>Password: Your Trinity Account password<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.trincoll.edu\/lits\/technology\/tech-support\/network\/eduroam\/\">Additional information about eduroam<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Gaming consoles, TVs, and other devices:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Network: Trin_IoT (Trinity Internet of Things)<\/li>\n<li><strong>NOTE<\/strong> Personal <strong>routers, wireless bridges<\/strong>, and <strong>personal wireless printers<\/strong> are <em>not supported on our network<\/em>.<\/li>\n<li>Connecting without any registration will provide you with Internet access (most TVs, gaming and streaming devices only require Internet access)<\/li>\n<li>If your device is <strong>required to be on the same network as your laptop and\/or phone<\/strong>, you will need to register its MAC address\n<ul>\n<li>Go to<a href=\"http:\/\/mydevices.trincoll.edu\/\"> mydevices.trincoll.edu<\/a> from a computer or phone, select &#8220;Add a Device,&#8221; and follow the instructions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For help connecting to wifi, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.trincoll.edu\/lits\/about\/phone-email-contacts\/\">contact the Library &amp; IT Desk.<\/a><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"ms-rteElement-P\">Tips and Security<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Before you connect your personal computer or other device to Trinity\u2019s network, please be certain it is up-to-date with the latest virus protection updates and operating system patches.<\/li>\n<li>If the device&#8217;s operating system is no longer supported by the manufacturer (they are no longer providing security updates for your OS and your device cannot upgrade to a newer OS) you may not be allowed to connect it to the campus network<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 class=\"ms-rteElement-H2\">Visitors<\/h2>\n<h3>eduroam<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>If you&#8217;re from an institution that is an eduroam member, you can connect to eduroam at Trinity automatically<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>TrinGuest<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"ms-rteElement-P\">Available to all visitors<\/li>\n<li class=\"ms-rteElement-P\">Connect to TrinGuest and if prompted check the box to accept Terms of Use to connect<\/li>\n<li>NOTE: once you have connected a device to eduroam, you will not be able to connect it to TrinGuest (we want the device on the most secure network possible, which is eduroam)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Wifi Laptops, desktops, IPads and phones: Network: eduroam Identity: username@trincoll.edu Password: Your Trinity Account password Additional information about eduroam Gaming consoles, TVs, and other devices: Network: Trin_IoT (Trinity Internet of Things) NOTE Personal routers, wireless bridges, and personal wireless printers are not supported on our network.
