International (F1\/J1) students can request a 1098T form if their families file a US income tax form for 2025 year. For those required to provide our office with taxpayer identification number, please <a href=\"https:\/\/www.trincoll.edu\/student-accounts\/1098t-information\/w9s-_trinity-college-form-sept-2022\/\">download Form W9S<\/a> and return it to the Student Accounts office.<\/p>\n<p>Depending on a student&#8217;s income (or parent\u2019s income, for dependent students), whether full or half-time enrolled, if the amount of qualified educational expenses for the year exceed grants and scholarships, the student\/parents may be eligible for a federal education tax credit. (For detailed information about claiming education tax credits, refer to IRS Publication 970, page 9).<\/p>\n<p>The dollar amounts reported on the Form 1098-T may assist in completing IRS Form 8863 \u2013 the form used for calculating the education tax credits that a taxpayer may claim as part of their tax return.<\/p>\n<p>Trinity College is unable to provide individual tax advice.
