Revel in the sounds of the 49-bell Plumb Memorial Carillon, the beloved soundtrack of the Trinity College campus. Trinity’s own college carillonneur, Ellen Dickinson, performs recitals each Thursday this fall.

Bring a lunch and enjoy one of Trinity’s greatest treasures: picnic on the quadrangle, or sit in the Chapel rose garden or south cloister. When it gets too cold, come inside.

Most Thursdays during Common Hour, 12:15–1:15 p.m.

Did you know that students, faculty and staff can learn how to play the carillon? Students may enroll in “MUSIC-107” and earn .5 credit. Contact ellen.dickinson@trincoll.edu for more information.

Behind the Soundtrack of Trinity

It would be difficult to find a member of the Trinity College community who has never heard the bells of the historic Trinity Chapel. Ellen Dickinson—musician, composer, and college carillonneur at Trinity—is the woman behind that music and has served the college for a decade.
