A crisp fall day might be the perfect setting for a walk along Hartford\u2019s riverfront and an exploration of Riverfront Recapture\u2019s four connected parks, where sights include more than the city\u2019s skyline and the calming movement of the Connecticut River. Sculptures\u2014including a series of 16 works dedicated to Abraham Lincoln\u2014dot the welcoming banks. Riverfront Recapture, the nonprofit that manages, maintains, and operates the parks and their riverwalks and trails, joined the Greater Hartford Arts Council in collaborating in 2005 with Lincoln Financial\u2014which awarded a $500,000 grant\u2014to create the Lincoln Financial Sculpture Walk. The final sculpture was installed in 2011, and in 2016, Pulitzer Prize-winning presidential historian Doris Kearns Goodwin helped launch a mobile tour of the sculpture series that honors the country\u2019s 16th president.
