Dear Trinity Community,<\/p>\n
It was three full years ago when the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted our world. Today, looking back at all we have been through and learned, we are grateful for your cooperation and diligence which has allowed us to safely pull through and essentially resume normal operations.<\/p>\n
After consultation with our partners at Hartford HealthCare, we write to inform you of an update to our COVID vaccination policy. Effective May 1, Trinity will discontinue the current COVID vaccination requirement. While the College still recommends that all students and employees remain updated with their COVID-19 vaccinations, we will no longer mandate the COVID vaccine<\/strong>. All other COVID-related health and safety measures will remain in place for the rest of the academic year.<\/p>\n Trinity College closely monitors the latest scientific evidence and medical recommendations about COVID-19 in partnership with Hartford HealthCare and their infectious disease experts, whose trusted counsel we sought when making this decision. As COVID has become an endemic disease, the predominant variants circulating are considered less severe than earlier strains.<\/p>\n Should you have any concerns, please reach out to appropriate offices, which may include your manager, Human Resources, or the Dean of Students. If conditions similar to the initial COVID-19 outbreak reemerge, we will revisit policies and make necessary campus-wide adjustments.<\/p>\n While we may continue to hear about subvariants, it is our hope that the spread and strength of all future COVID-19 variants will diminish to indiscernible levels.
