While COVID-19 continues to impact our lives, we have worked to keep each other healthy, safe and together as a community.<\/p>\n<p>We write today as a follow-up on recent decisions by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announcing that certain people are now eligible to receive a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/media\/releases\/2021\/p1021-covid-booster.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">COVID-19 booster shot<\/a>, including those who received Moderna and Johnson &amp; Johnson\/Janssen COVID-19 vaccines. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/coronavirus\/2019-ncov\/vaccines\/booster-shot.html#HighRisk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/coronavirus\/2019-ncov\/vaccines\/booster-shot.html &#8211; HighRisk<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Trinity College and Hartford HealthCare are working to possibly offer a COVID-19 booster clinic on campus in November.\u00a0 <\/strong>At this time, boosters are not required to work, attend classes, or live on campus. To help us plan for an on-campus clinic, we would like to ask that you respond to this <a href=\"https:\/\/trinity.az1.qualtrics.com\/jfe\/form\/SV_cw0ZVNoU18QTgJE\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">survey<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>According to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/coronavirus\/2019-ncov\/vaccines\/booster-shot.html#HighRisk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CDC<\/a>, the following groups of people are eligible to receive COVID-19 boosters:<\/p>\n<p>For individuals who received a <strong>Pfizer-BioNTech<\/strong> or <strong>Moderna<\/strong> COVID-19 vaccine, the following groups are eligible for a booster shot at 6 months or more after their initial series:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>65 years and older<\/li>\n<li>Age 18+ who live in\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/coronavirus\/2019-ncov\/vaccines\/booster-shot.html#long-term-care\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">long-term care settings<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Age 18+ who have\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/coronavirus\/2019-ncov\/need-extra-precautions\/people-with-medical-conditions.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">underlying medical conditions<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Age 18+ who work or live in\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/coronavirus\/2019-ncov\/vaccines\/booster-shot.html#HighRisk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">high-risk settings<\/a>. Institutions of higher education are included in this category.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For individuals who received the <strong>Johnson &amp; Johnson<\/strong> COVID-19 vaccine, booster shots are also recommended for those who are 18 and older and who were vaccinated two or more months ago.<\/p>\n<p>We welcome your participation in this survey.
