Some tutor at local high schools, others work in the Aetna Quantitative Center, and a select few lead Supplemental Instruction sessions for department courses. Our students have also exhibited their research at poster sessions on campus and at regional math conferences.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to teaching and exhibiting mathematics, our students have opportunities to compete with other mathematics students both locally and nationally. Each year the Department of Mathematics also awards Phi Gamma Delta Prizes for first year students, second year students, and to seniors who demonstrate outstanding work in mathematics courses. Additionally, students who successfully pursue the understanding of mathematics may be inducted into Trinity\u2019s chapter of Pi Mu Epsilon, a national mathematics honor society.<\/p>\n<p>The Math department is not all serious scholarship, though.
