The Marjorie V. Butcher Actuarial Studies and Applied Mathematics Prize<\/h2>\n

Named for Marjorie Van Eenam Butcher H’09, professor of mathematics, emeritus, who was Trinity college’s first female faculty member, teaching at the college from 1956 until her retirement in 1989. The prize is awarded to seniors who have done outstanding work in actuarial studies or applied mathematics.<\/p>\n

Phi Gamma Delta Prizes<\/h2>\n

Each year the Department of Mathematics awards Phi Gamma Delta Prizes for first-year students, second-year students, and to seniors who demonstrate outstanding work in mathematics courses.<\/p>\n

Additionally, students who successfully pursue the understanding of mathematics may be inducted into Trinity\u2019s chapter of Pi Mu Epsilon<\/a>, a national mathematics honor society.<\/p>\n
