{"id":993,"date":"2020-04-08T16:20:14","date_gmt":"2020-04-08T20:20:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.trincoll.edu\/lits\/?page_id=993"},"modified":"2025-10-31T14:38:00","modified_gmt":"2025-10-31T18:38:00","slug":"faculty","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.trincoll.edu\/lits\/technology\/tech-support\/phones-tv\/faculty\/","title":{"rendered":"Faculty\/Staff Phone Services"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2 class=\"ms-rteElement-H2\">Office Telephones<\/h2>\n<p class=\"ms-rteElement-P\">A standard office telephone has the following features:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>An extension that allows for multiple calls simultaneously<\/li>\n<li>Call forwarding (to other on-campus numbers)<\/li>\n<li>Call transfer<\/li>\n<li>Conference calling<\/li>\n<li>On campus calling<\/li>\n<li>Calls to the Hartford Area<\/li>\n<li>Toll-free calls<\/li>\n<li>Internet (Inum) calls (883 country code)<\/li>\n<li>Toll calls (including international)<\/li>\n<li>Directory Assistance \u2013 at a cost of .75 per use<\/li>\n<li>Additional extensions (so that you can pick up calls for your colleagues)<\/li>\n<li>Forwarding to off-campus numbers<\/li>\n<li>Caller ID display<\/li>\n<li>Speaker phone<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"ms-rteElement-P\">The department will not be charged for any long-distance calls made on your office telephone.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"ms-rteElement-H2\">Request Telephone Service<\/h2>\n<p class=\"ms-rteElement-P\">You can make phones from your devices using the Teams App. To request that a telephone be installed in an office, please <a href=\"https:\/\/www.trincoll.edu\/lits\/technology\/tech-support\/\">contact the Library &amp; IT Desk (Help Desk)<\/a>. Please call at least two weeks before the telephone will be needed. There is no installation charge.<\/p>\n<p>If you are moving offices, log out of your current phone in your old office and login to phone in your new office. Never move an office telephone as they are programmed for 911 calls by location. If you need help logging into your phone, please <a href=\"https:\/\/www.trincoll.edu\/lits\/technology\/tech-support\/\">contact the Library &amp; IT Desk<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"ms-rteElement-H2\">Cellular Telephones<\/h2>\n<p class=\"ms-rteElement-P\">In some limited cases, Trinity College will provide a cellular telephone for an employee to use. Since this is an expensive service, only a small minority of employees have one.
