Exchange consolidates personal email, calendar, contacts, and tasks in a single application and works seamlessly with Microsoft Office applications.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"ms-rteElement-H2\">Accessing Email<\/h2>\n<p class=\"ms-rteElement-P\">Email can be checked online at\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/outlook.office365.com\/\">http:\/\/outlook.office365.com<\/a>. Instructions for\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.trincoll.edu\/lits\/help-support\/software\/#email\">setting up an email client<\/a>\u00a0are also available.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"ms-rteElement-H2\">Maintaining your Account<\/h2>\n<p class=\"ms-rteElement-P\">You should perform maintenance on your Exchange account to keep it running smoothly. These tips can help keep your account in good working order:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Don`t open any email attachment which you are not expecting. Delete these attachments immediately.<\/li>\n<li>Check your mail quota regularly to ensure you don&#8217;t exceed your limit. Plain text emails take up very little space, but mail attachments (photos, etc.) can take up quite a bit. Save attachments to your hard drive or other storage devices to save space on your email account.<\/li>\n<li>Your sent mail folder counts toward your quota. If you save copies of the emails you send, check your sent mail folder regularly and delete messages you no longer need.<a name=\"Phishing\"><\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 class=\"ms-rteElement-H2\">Preventing Spam and Phishing Attacks<\/h2>\n<p class=\"ms-rteElement-P\">Spam is an unsolicited commercial email. Phishing is an attempt to criminally and fraudulently acquire sensitive information, such as usernames, passwords, and credit card details, by masquerading as a trustworthy entity in an electronic communication. Phishing is typically carried out by email or instant messaging, and often directs users to reply or enter details at a Web site.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p class=\"ms-rteElement-P\">Never respond to spam. This only confirms that your email address is valid, and you&#8217;re likely to receive even more messages. You can <a href=\"https:\/\/www.trincoll.edu\/lits\/help-support\/tech-support\/email\/reportspam\/\">report spam and phishing email messages directly to Microsoft.<\/a><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"ms-rteElement-P\">LITS will NEVER EVER EVER ask you to email your username, password or any other personal identifying information. Disregard any email that requests such information, whether it`s for us, your bank, mortgage lender, etc. If you`re unsure, contact the company you do business with directly by phone, or in a case regarding your Trinity account, contact the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.trincoll.edu\/lits\/about\/people\/phone-email-contacts\/\">Library &amp; IT Desk<\/a>. You may also forward questionable email messages to <strong>Security@trincoll.edu.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"ms-rteElement-P\">Do not give out your email address without knowing how it will be used.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"ms-rteElement-P\">Take the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sonicwall.com\/phishing-iq-test-landing\/\">phishing and spam IQ test<\/a> to see if you can recognize a phishing scam from a legitimate email message.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Library and Information Technology Services provides Office 365 Exchange mail accounts to all faculty, staff, and students.
