The Connecticut Digital Scholarship Exchange is a collaborative program hosted by Connecticut College and Trinity College. Designed to create opportunities for faculty to learn about digital scholarship, both institutions will host workshops, tours, and other events to introduce interested faculty, students, and staff to different digital scholarship approaches and discuss core competencies in project management and sustainability. A full slate of events will be announced in this continually updated space throughout the academic year 2023-2024.<\/p>\n
External faculty, students, and staff to both institutions are welcome. Both institutions hope the exchange will foster a vibrant digital scholarship community in Connecticut. Co-directors of the project include:<\/p>\n

On average, millions of podcast listeners consume multiple podcast episodes every week. According to Spotify, there are over 5 million podcasts from which to choose. Podcasting allows creators to craft content in multiple formats (documentary, narrative, interview, reported, conversational, fictional, etc.) and push it out freely to the public. With the benefit of free software and tools, aspiring podcasters can get up and running with little training or effort. This workshop will introduce participants to podcasting and explore the steps required to take an idea from concept to creation. No prior experience is required. Attendees will leave the workshop with an understanding of the podcast production process and recommendations for software and tools to support their work. While usership has grown to an average of a million views per year, the years have also seen rapid changes in scholarship, digital practices, and website design and functionality. The presentation will cover the original intention and design behind the project, the benefits and complications of legacy digital projects, and how the CT Humanities Digital Humanities team is thinking about a reorientation to better reflect and serve our audiences.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n This presentation is part of our \u201cproject showcase\u201d<\/a> series.
