We have 2 Prusa MK3 printers, 2 Prusa MK4 printers and a Raise3D pro2.<\/p>\n<p>To get started, contact the Student Technology Assistants for help\u00a0getting your model ready and sending it to the printer. You may email the STA office at\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:sta-help@trincoll.edu\">sta-help@trincoll.edu<\/a>,\u00a0call at\u00a0<a href=\"tel:+18602972589\">860-297-2589<\/a>, or\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/outlook.office365.com\/owa\/calendar\/StudentTechnologyAssistantsSTAs@trincoll.onmicrosoft.com\/bookings\/\">make an appointment<\/a>\u00a0online (schedule either General Services or 3D printing).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Printing is available during <a href=\"https:\/\/www.trincoll.edu\/lits\/about\/people\/student-technology-assistants\/\">STA Office Hours<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Don\u2019t know what to print?<\/strong><br \/>\nThere are several sites such as Makerbot\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.thingiverse.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Thingiverse<\/a>\u00a0that offer free models designed for printing. You can also design your own models using software such as\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.tinkercad.com\/\">Tinkercad<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.123dapp.com\/design\">Autodesk 123D<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.solidworks.com\/sw\/products\/3d-cad\/packages.htm\">Solidworks<\/a>, or <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sketchup.com\/\">Sketchup<\/a> ( the <a href=\"https:\/\/app.sketchup.com\/\">free web version<\/a> is a good way to start). The models must be in STL format and within the dimensions 9.9 x 7.8 x 5.9 in (25.1 x 19.8 x 14.9 cm).<\/p>\n<p>See our\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/edtech.domains.trincoll.edu\/expo\/gallery\/\">gallery<\/a>\u00a0for more ideas.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Are there any limitations or restrictions?<\/strong><br \/>\nWe want to encourage people to experiment so we aren\u2019t putting strict limits on what can be printed but we do request you keep your prints reasonable. Large prints can easily take 24hrs or more to print. We reserve the right to refuse to print items we deem inappropriate or that may require a large amount of resources in terms of both time and materials.<\/p>\n<p>*While we are not charging at the moment the cost of materials is not insignificant.
