Digitization and Streaming Video Services<\/h3>\n

Library & Information Technology Services provides digitization services for library or faculty owned films that will be used within the context of a course. The purpose of this program is to facilitate in-class screenings as well as assignments that are expected to be viewed outside of class.<\/p>\n

Upon faculty request, a DVD can be purchased, digitized, uploaded to the Kaltura streaming video platform, and then linked to its corresponding Moodle course page. Due to copyright restrictions, access to the video is then limited to the students enrolled in the course for the duration of the semester.<\/p>\n

Use Data<\/h3>\n

Faculty can see how much films are used in their course. Data are available within Moodle. From within the Kaltura Media Gallery, click the icon in the upper right corner and choose \u201canalytics.\u201d<\/p>\n

Exclusions and Limitations<\/h3>\n

Please note that the Library cannot sponsor campus film screenings. Videos from Trinity\u2019s collections should be shown within the normal fair use, course-specific teaching context.<\/p>\n

The Library reserves the right to limit the number of titles to be digitized or purchased in conjunction with a course. Requests that number more than fifteen films per course will require additional processing time. When requests are unusually expensive (e.g. more than $200) or numerous we may also ask the faculty member\u2019s department for funds to help cover acquisition costs.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
