It helps protect sensitive data, ensures privacy, and secures your connection when on public wifi. When using Trinity&#8217;s VPN it allows authorized users to access restricted campus resources from off-campus locations.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"582\" data-end=\"912\">Trinity\u2019s VPN is intended for accessing campus-specific systems and data that require a secure connection, not for general internet browsing. When browsing the web off-campus, we recommend using a commercial VPN service (such as ExpressVPN or Proton VPN) to protect your personal data and maintain online privacy.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"919\" data-end=\"962\"><strong data-start=\"923\" data-end=\"962\">When to Use the Trinity College VPN<\/strong><\/h3>\n<h4 data-start=\"963\" data-end=\"1042\">You should connect to the Trinity College VPN <strong data-start=\"1009\" data-end=\"1041\">only when you need to access<\/strong>:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Internal campus systems or databases restricted to the Trinity network<\/li>\n<li>Departmental or administrative file servers that require secure access<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4 data-start=\"1270\" data-end=\"1317\">You <strong data-start=\"1274\" data-end=\"1289\">do not need<\/strong> to use the Trinity VPN for:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Accessing email (e.g., Outlook, Gmail, etc.)<\/li>\n<li>Using common web applications (e.g., Moodle, Teams, Zoom, or cloud-based tools)<\/li>\n<li>General internet browsing, for which we recommend a commercial VPN<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 data-start=\"2088\" data-end=\"2133\"><strong data-start=\"2092\" data-end=\"2133\">Connecting to the Trinity College VPN<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"2135\" data-end=\"2368\">Trinity provides a secure VPN service for authorized community members.
