The Trinity College Safe Zone Member Program \"\"<\/h3>\n

The campus community is invited to sign up for the web-based Safe Zone Member Training* called LGBTQ+ Foundations & Allyship<\/a> <\/strong>offered through the Queer Resource Center.<\/p>\n

All campus members are welcome and encouraged to complete this web-course to gain a baseline understanding of LGBTQIA+ concepts, experiences, needs, and campus resources. *Upon completion, participants may choose whether or not to join the Safe Zone Member Program.<\/em><\/p>\n

In addition to this online learning program, in person training sessions to go deeper into personal allyship practice and understanding will also be available to faculty, staff, and student leaders through the Queer Resource Center.<\/p>\n

The mission of the Trinity College Safe Zone Member program is to create a more welcoming and supportive environment around sexual and gender diversity at Trinity College. The program provides education and awareness around sexual orientation, gender identity, and expression and helps participants develop their allyship skills.<\/p>\n

Trinity\u2019s Safe Zone program was initiated in the Spring of 2000 by the Women & Gender Resource Action Center (WGRAC) and is now a campus wide LGBTQ diversity program offered by the Trinity Queer Resource Center. Since its inception hundreds of faculty, staff, and students have participated in campus Safe Zone trainings and joined the program by displaying a Safe Zone sticker on their personal office or residence hall door as symbol of program membership.<\/p>\n
