It\u2019s a tourist attraction where when the temperature is right, the lake looks pink. The local people also harvest salt from the lake. The lady was part of a group of women who sell handmade bracelets and other crafts.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">&#8211; Salima Etoka<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-517 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/www.trincoll.edu\/language-culture-studies\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/21\/2019\/05\/Senegal2-300x247.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"247\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.trincoll.edu\/language-culture-studies\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/21\/2019\/05\/Senegal2-300x247.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.trincoll.edu\/language-culture-studies\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/21\/2019\/05\/Senegal2.jpg 500w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The second photo is of a baobab tree. A baobab tree is a national symbol of Senegal for many different reasons. During my experience, I learned that every part of the tree is used. The fruit is used to make a juice called Monkey bread. There\u2019s a sauce that\u2019s made from the tree to be eaten with rice.
