Historians are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>problem-finders and problem-solvers<\/li>\n<li>analytical and artful writers<\/li>\n<li>effective and engaging public speakers<\/li>\n<li>skilled debaters and leaders of conversation<\/li>\n<li>methodical and creative scholars<\/li>\n<li>rigorous and flexible thinkers<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Studying history at Trinity is unique because:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>our courses explore urban and planetary themes, with faculty expertise spanning the globe<\/li>\n<li>our department offers history travel funding, summer research fellowships, and opportunities for Hartford community engagement<\/li>\n<li>our campus allows for archival research at the Watkinson Library, a rare book library inside the main library<\/li>\n<li>our curriculum facilitates and supports double majors with the sciences, social sciences, arts, and humanities<\/li>\n<li>our students study abroad around the world for one or two semesters<\/li>\n<li>our alumni work in medicine, law, technology, education, and many other professional fields<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The history department is made up of thirteen faculty members and a growing number of majors, double-majors, and minors.
