{"id":159,"date":"2020-11-10T17:06:36","date_gmt":"2020-11-10T22:06:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.trincoll.edu\/health-professions\/?page_id=159"},"modified":"2025-08-05T09:41:50","modified_gmt":"2025-08-05T14:41:50","slug":"admissions-statistics","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.trincoll.edu\/health-professions\/admissions-statistics\/","title":{"rendered":"Admissions Statistics"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The ability to accurately quantitate the success of our students in gaining admission to post-graduate programs in the health professions is influenced by many external factors.\u00a0 Unreported termination of the application process, non-release of applications, acceptances to international schools, and failure of acceptance notification all contribute to a general uncertainty in any number reported to reflect the \u201csuccess rate\u201d of Trinity students in getting into medical school, dental school, vet school, etc. A more important aspect to evaluate is the quality of the program at Trinity College and the exceptional opportunities provided by our curriculum and our community.\u00a0 These are highlighted below:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The HPAC and our advising help is available to all students, regardless of GPA or Admissions Test scores, for up to 4 years post-graduation<\/li>\n<li>Trinity graduates are currently attending the following health-professions schools: Cornell, Penn State, University of Connecticut, University of Arizona, New York University, Columbia, Tufts, Albert Einstein, UC- San Francisco, Boston University, Yale, Columbia, UC-Davis, Harvard<\/li>\n<li>Trinity alumni occupy prestigious appointments in some of the finest teaching institutions (UNC, Harvard, Columbia, Weill-Cornell, Vanderbilt, Temple) and are active in the HPAC alumni mentoring<\/li>\n<li>There are <strong>3 world-class health-care institutions<\/strong> within a 10 minute walk from campus (<a href=\"https:\/\/hartfordhospital.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Hartford Hospital<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.connecticutchildrens.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Connecticut Children&#8217;s Medical Center<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/instituteofliving.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Institute of Living<\/a>)<\/li>\n<li>Volunteer and Internship opportunities provide exposure to numerous and varied cultural and ethnic communities<\/li>\n<li>Curricular opportunities such as the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.trincoll.edu\/health-fellows-program\">Health Fellows Program <\/a>provide students with unique insights into the life of the health professional<\/li>\n<li>The Health Professions Advising Committee (HPAC) is composed of full-time faculty across multiple departments within the College and each registered student\u00a0 is assigned a <strong>personal HPAC advisor<\/strong> at the time of registering for the program<\/li>\n<li>The acceptance rate for students at Trinity applying to all graduate health-care programs is approximately 80%.*<br \/>\n*\u00a0 this number reflects data collected over the last 5 years for students applying to medical (allopathic and osteopathic), dental, veterinary, physician\u2019s assistant, nursing (accelerated), and pharmacy programs.\u00a0\u00a0 Students who are evaluated by the Healthcare Professions Advising Committee as either Outstanding or Superior Candidates have an acceptance rate of over 90%.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you have further questions or would like more information about our program, please contact Alison Draper, Chair of the Health Professions Advising Committee at <a href=\"mailto:alison.draper@trincoll.edu\">alison.draper@trincoll.edu<\/a> (860) 297-5189.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The ability to accurately quantitate the success of our students in gaining admission to post-graduate programs in the health professions is influenced by many external factors.\u00a0 Unreported termination of the application process, non-release of applications, acceptances to international schools, and failure of acceptance notification all contribute to a general uncertainty in any number reported to [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":4,"featured_media":0,"parent":0,"menu_order":1,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","template":"","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"footnotes":""},"class_list":["post-159","page","type-page","status-publish","hentry"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO Premium plugin v24.5 (Yoast SEO v25.8) -
