Philipp\u2019s green chemistry project, <em>Enzyme-mediated protecting group chemistry: Site-selective deprotection of benzyl ethers<\/em>, is a collaborative research project, with monthly input from selected Roundtable member representatives, and will explore a critical step in organic synthesis. For more information, see <a href=\"https:\/\/www.trincoll.edu\/news\/trinity-faculty-member-receives-american-chemical-society-grant-for-research\/\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/internet3.trincoll.edu\/facProfiles\/Photos\/1481256.jpg\" alt=\"Megan Crutcher\" width=\"100\" height=\"125\" \/>Megan Crutcher, Ann Plato Postdoctoral Fellow in History,<\/strong> received a grant from the Institute of Nautical Archaeology for her project, <em>Where Trees Meet the Tide: Documenting Traditional Watercraft Construction in Liberia, West Africa<\/em>, which documents the design, construction, and cultural significance of traditional dugout canoes and larger, motorized \u201cFanti boats\u201d in Liberia, West Africa. The grant will allow Megan to travel to conduct her research.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/internet3.trincoll.edu\/facProfiles\/Photos\/1361623.jpg\" alt=\"Davarian Baldwin\" width=\"100\" height=\"125\" \/>Davarian Baldwin, Paul E. Raether Distinguished Professor of American Studies,<\/strong> received a subaward through <em>The Renewal Project<\/em>, a Mellon Foundation grant to the University of Minnesota at Twin Cities. Davarian will provide intellectual and strategic oversight to the Renewal Project helping to guide conceptualization and implementation of the archival, pedagogical, and public humanities pillars for the project. The award will support Davarian\u2019s time during the summers of 2025 and 2026.<\/p>\n<h4><\/h4>\n<h4>INSTITUTIONAL GRANTS<\/h4>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/www.trincoll.edu\/cher\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/128\/2022\/07\/Liliana100x125-1.png\" alt=\"Liliana Polley\" width=\"100\" height=\"125\" \/>Liliana Polley, Executive Director of the Center for Hartford Engagement and Research,<\/strong> received a grant from the State of Connecticut Health and Educational Facilities Authority (CHEFA) through its FY 2026 CHEFA John M. Biancamano Client Grant Program for parking lot repaving and accessibility renovations at Trinfo.
