{"id":173,"date":"2020-10-21T13:22:17","date_gmt":"2020-10-21T13:22:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.trincoll.edu\/fys\/intellectual-curiosity\/"},"modified":"2020-10-29T20:31:59","modified_gmt":"2020-10-29T20:31:59","slug":"intellectual-curiosity","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.trincoll.edu\/fys\/learning-goals\/intellectual-curiosity\/","title":{"rendered":"Intellectual Curiosity"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Students who are curious ask questions, explore topics, and value learning for its own sake.\u00a0 Intellectually curious students want to know how and why the world works as it does; they are not afraid to challenge themselves or others with new ideas and experiences.\u00a0 Regardless of what they know or don\u2019t know, they want to understand.<\/p>\n<p>\u200bIntellectual curiosity is also\u00a0a key predictor of academic success and one of the top traits employers value. In a rapidly changing world, those who are willing to explore alternatives and continue learning will be most able to adapt and innovate.\u200b<\/p>\n<p>Faculty can cultivate intellectual curiosity by modeling it themselves, using a mix of mediums and pedagogies, and challenging students to stretch intellectually.
