She is the author of five books, including <\/span><em><span class=\"a_GcMg font-feature-liga-off font-feature-clig-off font-feature-calt-off text-decoration-none text-strikethrough-none\">Do Not Say We Have Nothing<\/span><\/em><span class=\"a_GcMg font-feature-liga-off font-feature-clig-off font-feature-calt-off text-decoration-none text-strikethrough-none\">, which was shortlisted for the Booker Prize, the Women\u2019s Prize for Fiction, and the Folio Prize, and won the 2016 Governor-General\u2019s Literary Award for Fiction. Her most recent novel, <\/span><em><span class=\"a_GcMg font-feature-liga-off font-feature-clig-off font-feature-calt-off text-decoration-none text-strikethrough-none\">The Book of Records<\/span><\/em><span class=\"a_GcMg font-feature-liga-off font-feature-clig-off font-feature-calt-off text-decoration-none text-strikethrough-none\"> was named a book of the year by <\/span><em><span class=\"a_GcMg font-feature-liga-off font-feature-clig-off font-feature-calt-off text-decoration-none text-strikethrough-none\">Time, The New Yorker, The Guardian<\/span><\/em><span class=\"a_GcMg font-feature-liga-off font-feature-clig-off font-feature-calt-off text-decoration-none text-strikethrough-none\">, and The New York Public Library, included on President Obama\u2019s list of favourite books of 2025, and longlisted for the National Book Critics Circle Award for Fiction and The Climate Fiction Prize 2026. Madeleine\u2019s novels have been translated into twenty-seven languages, and her essays and stories can be found in <\/span><em><span class=\"a_GcMg font-feature-liga-off font-feature-clig-off font-feature-calt-off text-decoration-none text-strikethrough-none\">The New Yorker, Granta, Times Literary Supplement, The New York Review of Books,<\/span><\/em><span class=\"a_GcMg font-feature-liga-off font-feature-clig-off font-feature-calt-off text-decoration-none text-strikethrough-none\"> and elsewhere. Her latest book,<\/span><em><span class=\"a_GcMg font-feature-liga-off font-feature-clig-off font-feature-calt-off text-decoration-none text-strikethrough-none\"> Lessons for Survival<\/span><\/em><span class=\"a_GcMg font-feature-liga-off font-feature-clig-off font-feature-calt-off text-decoration-none text-strikethrough-none\">, was a finalist for the Anisfield-Wolf Book Award, the Brooklyn Public Library Book Prize, and the ASLE Book Award.
