We also recognize the scholarly rigor and originality of theses that showcase the depth of our students\u2019 critical and creative engagement with literature. Whitlock Prizes in Drama<\/strong> \u2013 For one-act play scripts.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1122\" data-end=\"1366\"><strong data-start=\"1122\" data-end=\"1162\">F.A. Brown Prizes in Public Speaking<\/strong> \u2013 For an original 5\u20138 minute persuasive speech on a contemporary issue. Students must sign up. Speeches will be delivered in person. <span data-olk-copy-source=\"MessageBody\">This is a prize in public speaking, and entrants will be judged not just on the strength of their argument but also on their delivery, their ability to engage the audience. Though speeches may be based on a written essay, the text should be delivered from memory, with minimal reference to notecards or screens.<\/span><\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1369\" data-end=\"1480\"><strong data-start=\"1369\" data-end=\"1409\">Alumni Prizes in English Composition<\/strong> \u2013 For expository essays, including revised and retyped class papers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 data-start=\"1629\" data-end=\"1648\">Submission Guidelines<\/h3>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: disc\">\n<li data-start=\"1773\" data-end=\"1873\">Complete the following <a href=\"https:\/\/forms.office.com\/r\/Z7G7L2Nxf8\"><strong>form.<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1773\" data-end=\"1873\">Include the name of the contest at the top of your entry.
