Our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.trincoll.edu\/educ\/faculty-and-staff\/\">faculty<\/a> integrate the theory, policy, and practice of schooling, as well as its broader relationship with society, through collaborative learning with classrooms and communities in the city of Hartford. Our student majors develop their skills and knowledge from our introductory course to doing independent senior thesis research:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Examine learning &amp; inequality in K-12 classrooms in\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.trincoll.edu\/educ\/courses\">Ed 200: Analyzing Schools<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Explore movements for change in mid-level\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.trincoll.edu\/educ\/courses\">Ed 300: Ed Reform Past and Present<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Develop\u00a0research skills using qualitative, quantitative, and\/or historical methods<\/li>\n<li>Deepen their knowledge with advanced courses in their areas of concentration<\/li>\n<li>Produce independent thesis works in the capstone\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.trincoll.edu\/educ\/courses\">Educ 400: Senior Research Seminar<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Educational Studies unifies our understanding of\u00a0educational institutions, learning processes, youth development, and the potential for change. In addition to core <a href=\"https:\/\/www.trincoll.edu\/educ\/courses\">courses and electives<\/a> taught by Educational Studies faculty, our majors benefit from a wide array of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.trincoll.edu\/educ\/courses\">cross-referenced courses<\/a>\u00a0offered by other departments and programs, including American Studies, anthropology, international studies, political science, psychology, public policy, sociology, theater and dance, and others. Listen to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.trincoll.edu\/educ\/alumni\/\">alumni interviews<\/a> to hear how graduates reflect on their liberal arts learning in the Educational Studies Program.
