They have received prestigious grants, and their work is celebrated internationally.<\/p>\n<h2>Art Venues on Campus<\/h2>\n<p>Several <a href=\"https:\/\/www.trincoll.edu\/austin-arts-center\/arts-venues-at-trinity\/\">spaces on campus<\/a> are focal points for the arts and community building: \u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.trincoll.edu\/austin-arts-center\/\">Austin Arts Center<\/a>; Widener Gallery; Crescent Center for Arts and Neuroscience (C-CAN); Gruss Music Hall; Wiggins Sculpture Studio; Trinity\u2019s vibrant <a href=\"https:\/\/tclibrary.omeka.net\/exhibits\/show\/trinity-college-art-collection\">art collection<\/a>; the student-run Mill; and the iconic <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cinestudio.org\">Cinestudio<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>Arts in the City<\/h2>\n<p>Being in a culturally diverse urban setting means that the city, along with its numerous performance spaces and highly regarded museums, including the Wadsworth Atheneum (the oldest continually operating public art museum in the country), serve as living classrooms for students. Trips to performances in New York City also supplement in-class learning.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Trinity\u2019s Arts Festivals<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Each spring <a href=\"https:\/\/commons.trincoll.edu\/sambafest\/\">Samba Fest<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/trinityhiphop\/\">International Hip-Hop Festival<\/a> are immensely popular events, highlighting our urban-global identity and providing students with unique learning opportunities.<\/p>\n<h2>Global Study in the Arts<\/h2>\n<p>Students can study acting, dance and performance at the incredible\u00a0<a title=\"https:\/\/www.trincoll.edu\/UrbanGlobal\/StudyAway\/programs\/Domestic\/LaMaMa\" href=\"https:\/\/www.trincoll.edu\/UrbanGlobal\/StudyAway\/programs\/Domestic\/LaMaMa\" data-auth=\"NotApplicable\" data-linkindex=\"0\">LaMaMa program<\/a>; explore the arts on our\u00a0<a title=\"https:\/\/www.trincoll.edu\/UrbanGlobal\/StudyAway\/programs\/TrinityPrograms\/Rome\/\" href=\"https:\/\/www.trincoll.edu\/UrbanGlobal\/StudyAway\/programs\/TrinityPrograms\/Rome\/\" data-auth=\"NotApplicable\" data-linkindex=\"1\">Rome<\/a>\u00a0campus, or take advantage of Trinity\u2019s many approved study away programs.<\/p>\n<h2>Innovative Academic Programs<\/h2>\n<p>An <a href=\"https:\/\/www.trincoll.edu\/gateway-programs\/interarts\/\">InterArts<\/a> Gateway program supports first-year students, who form a learning community of engaged artists. In addition to majors in art history, studio arts, music, film studies, and theater and dance, Trinity has innovative minors in music production, art history, and architectural studies. Students interested in the arts can also explore connections across disciplines, including with STEM fields and with world regions, especially Caribbean and Latin American studies as well as Asian studies.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Experiential Learning<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Community learning opportunities abound for students interested in engaging in the city and the public arts. Over 60% of Trinity students majoring in the arts engage in independent projects for credit, and about the same number complete a thesis.
