Additionally,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/quod.lib.umich.edu\/t\/tia\/17063888.0029.016\/--12-student-and-faculty-perceptions-of-effects-of-midcourse?rgn=main;view=fulltext\">research<\/a>\u00a0has also shown that instructors who solicit and respond to midsemester feedback from students tend to receive higher end-of-semester ratings from students than those who do not.<\/p>\n<p>Midsemester feedback can take\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/tll.mit.edu\/teaching-resources\/assess-teaching\/mid-semester-formative-feedback\/\">many forms<\/a>, including simple ones like\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.insidehighered.com\/blogs\/gradhacker\/mid-semester-evaluations\">start\/stop\/continue<\/a>\u00a0or the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.chronicle.com\/blogs\/profhacker\/consider-conducting-a-mid-semester-course-evaluation\">four-question model<\/a>. Some key tenets to keep in mind are that students are most likely to be candid when given the opportunity for anonymous feedback and that it is critical to give students a timely response to the feedback you receive, explaining what you will change, what you won\u2019t change, and your rationale for these decisions.<\/p>\n<p>To administer the evaluations, you may choose to use a paper form, particularly if your class is small and you are using a format that requires minimal writing.
