The center also offers summer institutes for faculty who wish to learn more and develop PBL in their own courses. The institute\u2019s director, Kris Wobbe, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/trincoll.mediaspace.kaltura.com\/media\/2024-11-21%20-%20Project-Based%20Learning%3A%20What%2C%20Why%20and%20How%20-%20Kris%20Wobbe\/1_p2k8bjs1\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">spoke at Trinity<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> in fall 2024.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;134233117&quot;:false,&quot;134233118&quot;:false,&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335551550&quot;:1,&quot;335551620&quot;:1,&quot;335559685&quot;:0,&quot;335559737&quot;:0,&quot;335559738&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:279}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">In collaboration with <\/span><i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Inside Higher Ed<\/span><\/i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, <\/span><i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Times Higher Education <\/span><\/i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">has published short guides on <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.timeshighereducation.com\/campus\/implementing-projectbased-learning-practical-guide\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">implementing PBL<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> and using <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.timeshighereducation.com\/campus\/using-projectbased-learning-boost-student-motivation-and-engagement\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">PBL to enhance student motivation<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\">.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The <\/span><i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Tea for Teaching<\/span><\/i><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> podcast has done two episodes on Project-Based Teaching (guest: <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/teaforteaching.com\/21-project-based-learning\/\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">Jeff Bradbury<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\">) and Making Team Projects Work (guests: <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/teaforteaching.com\/193-making-team-projects-work\/\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">Lauren Vicker and Tim Franz<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\">).<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pblworks.org\/\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">PBLWorks<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> is a resource designed primarily for K-12 teachers, but which has useful information on getting started, research on PBL, and other resources that will be relevant to undergraduate teaching.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">For those interested in the outcomes of PBL, a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sciencedirect.com\/science\/article\/pii\/S0883035519325704\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">2020 review article<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> summarized work in the scholarship of teaching and learning on this topic.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">You can also check out books on PBL in the CTL library.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Worcester Polytechnic Institute\u2019s Center for PBL has an online resource specific to higher education that offers an excellent starting point for faculty.
