That is why she began her graduate career on Hispanic Studies at the University of Puerto Rico, Mayag\u00fcez Campus.\u00a0 She finished her PhD studies at the University of Connecticut.\u00a0 Her research focuses on contemporary cultural production, memory and oblivion.\u00a0 She is also interested in LatinX, humor, fantasy, sci-fi, video games and history. Dr. Aponte-Avil\u00e9s serves Senior Lecturer and Co-director of the Blume Language and Culture Learning Center at Trinity College, and is currently working on Voces de la migraci\u00f3n \/ Voices of Migration oral history project in Hartford. \u00a0She is also known as Prof. Lay to her audience in her show, Friday class, every Friday, 6:00-9:00 AM on WRTC 89.3.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-1053 size-full alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/www.trincoll.edu\/diversity-equity-inclusion\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/45\/2024\/08\/David-Sterling-Brown.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"100\" height=\"125\" \/><\/h4>\n<h4>David Sterling Brown, Associate Professor of English<\/h4>\n<div>Dr. <a href=\"https:\/\/internet3.trincoll.edu\/facProfiles\/Default.aspx?fid=1018985\"><span class=\"outlook-search-highlight\" data-markjs=\"true\">David<\/span> <span class=\"outlook-search-highlight\" data-markjs=\"true\">Sterling<\/span> Brown<\/a>\u00a0is an\u00a0award-winning, tenured Associate Professor of English and a proud Trinity College alumnus. He is the author of<span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><i><a title=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Shakespeares-White-Others-David-Sterling\/dp\/1009384163\/ref=tmm_hrd_swatch_0?_encoding=UTF8&amp;qid=&amp;sr=\" href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Shakespeares-White-Others-David-Sterling\/dp\/1009384163\/ref=tmm_hrd_swatch_0?_encoding=UTF8&amp;qid=&amp;sr=\" data-outlook-id=\"2f43305f-2e1d-4723-8d18-4159502e66cb\">Shakespeare\u2019s White Others<\/a> <\/i>(Cambridge University Press 2023), which was acquired by Tantor Media and recorded as an audiobook, with Brown as narrator. A member of the Race Before Race Executive Board, Brown also sits on the editorial boards for<span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><i>Shakespeare Survey<span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/i>and<span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><i>Shakespeare Bulletin<\/i>; and he is a member of the American Shakespeare Center\u2019s Board of Trustees. He has published<span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"outlook-search-highlight\">numerous <\/span>peer-reviewed and public-facing essays and delivered myriad talks. Brown is also an editor and public speaker. In 2021, he received a prestigious Mellon\/ACLS<span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><a title=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=uHqnkqgBKGM\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=uHqnkqgBKGM\" data-outlook-id=\"f24afe42-1599-4979-876c-d92b57a70670\">Scholars and Society Fellowship<\/a><span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>that facilitated his residency with\u00a0Claudia Rankine\u2019s The Racial Imaginary Institute, of which he is a full-time\u00a0Curatorial Team\u00a0member. The Fellowship also facilitated the development of his professional website (<a title=\"http:\/\/www.DavidSterlingBrown.com\" href=\"http:\/\/www.DavidSterlingBrown.com\" data-outlook-id=\"485f3959-9218-4e70-902d-ddeb52b9c90c\">www.<span class=\"outlook-search-highlight\" data-markjs=\"true\">David<\/span><span class=\"outlook-search-highlight\" data-markjs=\"true\">Sterling<\/span>Brown.com<\/a>) and his virtual-reality art gallery and exhibition\u2014\u201cVisualizing Race Virtually\u201d\u2014that complements<span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><i>Shakespeare\u2019s White Others<\/i>.\u00a0His second book,\u00a0<i>Hood Pedagogy<\/i>, will also be published by Cambridge University Press.<\/div>\n<h4><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-1049 size-full alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/www.trincoll.edu\/diversity-equity-inclusion\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/45\/2024\/08\/Hannah.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"100\" height=\"125\" \/>Hannah M. Hagy, <span class=\"normal emph\">Assistant Professor of Physical Education and Head Men&#8217;s and Women&#8217;s Swimming and Diving Coach<\/span><\/h4>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/internet3.trincoll.edu\/FacProfiles\/Default.aspx?fid=1480609\">Hannah Hagy<\/a> is an Assistant Professor of Physical Education and Head Men&#8217;s and Women&#8217;s Swimming &amp; Diving Coach. At Trinity, Hagy teaches both beginning and intermediate level swimming courses in addition to coaching the varsity swimming &amp; diving team. Since it was founded in 2020, Hagy has served as a member of the Athletics DEIB Committee helping to create a safe and inclusive environment for all athletes and students on campus. In the 2021-2022 school year, Hagy worked as a professor of physical education and assistant swimming &amp; diving coach at Case Western Reserve University. In this position, Hagy taught beginning swimming, intermediate swimming and a wellness class that focused on all concepts of your wellbeing. From 2018-2021, Hagy served as the assistant swimming &amp; diving coach at Trinity College while earning her Masters Degree in Public Policy.
