Garner, Assistant Professor of Physical Education and Head Women&#8217;s Basketball Coach<\/h4>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/bantamsports.com\/staff-directory\/emily-garner\/195\">Emily Garner<\/a> is an Assistant Professor and Head Women&#8217;s Basketball Coach in the Department of Athletics and Physical Education. As a coach and educator, her goal is to create and maintain a culture of excellence that maximizes the growth and potential of the whole student experience. This culture is founded on the values of trust, integrity, and consistent hard work. It is her hope that these values and culture will develop leadership and knowledge that extend beyond the court and classroom, and follow her students and players as they move throughout their lives.\u00a0 Emily is also an active member of the Women&#8217;s Basketball Coaches Association.<\/p>\n<h4><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-677 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/www.trincoll.edu\/diversity-equity-inclusion\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/45\/2022\/08\/TLandry.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"115\" height=\"144\" \/>Timothy R. Landry, Associate Professor of Anthropology and Religious Studies<\/h4>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/internet3.trincoll.edu\/facProfiles\/Default.aspx?fid=1480189\">Timothy R. Landry<\/a> is an associate professor of anthropology and religious studies. His research and teaching focus on issues surrounding religion, ritual, witchcraft, magic, and the occult. He\u2019s conducted ethnographic research in the Caribbean and West Africa during which he\u2019s documented the ways in which religions of the Black Atlantic world have globalized and intersected with post-colonialism, racial inequity, and cultural appropriation. Along with his research, Prof. Landry is deeply committed to LGBTQ+ social justice and inclusion. He looks forward to using his skills as an anthropologist and his passion for LGBTQ+ activism to support Trinity College\u2019s office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion to help make Trinity College a more welcome, affirming, and constructive environment for everyone.<\/p>\n<h4><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-678 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/www.trincoll.edu\/diversity-equity-inclusion\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/45\/2022\/08\/IPapoulis.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"111\" height=\"139\" \/>Irene Papoulis, Principal Lecturer in the Allan K. Smith Center for Writing and Rhetoric<\/h4>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/internet3.trincoll.edu\/facProfiles\/Default.aspx?fid=1000506\">Irene Papoulis<\/a> teaches essay writing in various forms and is currently the Director of Academic Advising and Faculty Development.<\/p>\n<p>She is interested in how writers work in any genre, from the initial formation of ideas to the problems and delights of revision. Her academic interests include psychological approaches to the teaching of writing, creative nonfiction, writing in the public sphere, gender issues, and contemplative practices in the classroom. She is also a longtime Faculty Associate of the Institute for Writing and Thinking at Bard College, and the book review editor of the Journal of the Assembly for Expanded Perspectives on Learning (JAEPL).<\/p>\n<p>She appears as an occasional Friday radio panelist on the Colin McEnroe Show, broadcast on Connecticut&#8217;s Public Radio (WNPR).<\/p>\n<h4><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-679 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/www.trincoll.edu\/diversity-equity-inclusion\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/45\/2022\/08\/SRaskin.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"111\" height=\"139\" \/>Sarah Raskin, Charles A. Dana Professor of Psychology and Neuroscience<\/h4>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/internet3.trincoll.edu\/FacProfiles\/Default.aspx?fid=1000611\">Sarah Raskin<\/a> is the Charles A. Dana Professor of Psychology and Neuroscience at Trinity College.\u00a0 Her research includes measuring cognitive changes in different populations, including survivors of intimate partner violence, and is guided by input from a community research participant advisory group.\u00a0 She was the recipient of the Arthur Hughes award for teaching achievement and the Trustee Award for Faculty Excellence.\u00a0 She was recognized by a regional neuroscience organization with the Erskine Award for mentoring neuroscience students, and the Brain Injury Alliance of Connecticut with the Bontke award for research benefiting people with brain injury. She is currently the co-chair of the Task Force on the Status of Women and the Director of Faculty Mentoring at Trinity College, through which she has facilitated the creation of one-on-one mentoring and helped facilitate affinity groups on campus and is thrilled with the response so far from faculty and staff.\u00a0\u00a0 She serves on the Women in Neuropsychology subcommittee of the Society of Clinical Neuropsychology for the American Psychological Association.\u00a0 All of her courses include community learning partnerships and she helped create the Health Fellows Program. \u00a0She loves working with the students in the Neuroscience Club on supporting community initiatives in Hartford. She is currently working with colleagues at Trinity on creating a more inclusive environment at the College for students with disabilities. \u00a0 She serves on a number of community boards including the Brain Injury Alliance of Connecticut and Connecticut Against Gun Violence, where she serves on the community violence reduction subcommittee,\u00a0she is a member of the Women\u2019s March CT organizing committee, and she is a member of the West Hartford Human Rights Commission. \u00a0She has two children, ages 20 and 24.\u00a0She is honored and excited to serve as a DEI fellow.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>2022-23 Emily A.
