CANE\u2019s mission is to foster the study of the classical world through the association\u2019s many activities and resources, including the annual meeting in March, scholarships, discretionary grants, CANE\u2019s own press, and\u00a0<em>New England Classical Journal<\/em>\u00a0(<em>NECJ<\/em>).<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/classconn.org\/\">Classical Association of Connecticut: ClassConn<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The statewide organization was formed:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>to foster excellence in the teaching of Classical languages and civilizations in the schools, colleges, and universities of Connecticut;<\/li>\n<li>to advance the study of Classical languages and civilizations and research therein, the diffusion of knowledge thereof, and the continuing education of teachers of such subjects, and<\/li>\n<li>to sponsor student activities pertaining to classical languages and civilizations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/caas-cw.org\/\">Classical Association of the Atlantic States: CAAS<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The mission of The Classical Association of the Atlantic States, founded in 1907, is to strengthen teaching and research and foster public support for the languages, civilizations, and cultures of ancient Greece and Rome in the mid-Atlantic region (Delaware, the District of Columbia, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania).<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/camws.org\">Classical Association of the Middle West and South: CAMWS<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Classical Association of the Middle West and South is an organization for Classics (Latin and Greek) teachers at all levels, undergraduate and graduate students, and anyone else who enjoys learning about the world of classical antiquity.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/classicalstudies.org\">Society for Classical Studies: SCS<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0Society for Classical Studies\u00a0(SCS), founded as the American Philological Association in 1869 by &#8220;professors, friends, and patrons of linguistic science,&#8221; is the principal learned society in North America for the study of ancient Greek and Roman languages, literatures, and civilizations.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cac-scec.ca\">Classical Association of Canada<\/a>: CAC<\/p>\n<p>The Classical Association of Canada was founded in 1947 as a national non-profit organization. Its official languages are English and French. It aims to advance the study of the civilizations of the Greek and Roman world, their later influence, and their creative presence in modern culture. The Association works to promote the teaching of classical languages and civilizations in Canadian schools, colleges and universities, the publication of research in classical studies, and public awareness of the contribution and importance of classical studies, and liberal studies in general, in Canadian education and life.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.classicalassociation.org\">Classical Association of the UK<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Association was founded in 1903 for the advancement of education by the promotion, development and maintenance of classical studies and to increase public awareness of the contribution and importance of classics to education and public life.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/classics.fas.harvard.edu\/boston-area-classics-calendar\">Boston Area Classics Club<\/a><\/p>\n<p>the Boston Area Classics Calendar, a calendar of events related to the study of Classics and the Classical world in and around the greater Boston area.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thenewyorkclassicalclub.org\">New York Area Classics Club<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The New York Classical Club is a registered non-profit charity founded over 100 years ago to promote the study of classical antiquity in the New York area by sponsoring lectures, scholarships, and numerous contests on both the high school and college level.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u00a0Classical Association of New England: CANE Founded in 1905, the Classical Association of New England is the professional organization for classicists in the six New England states.
