{"id":2213,"date":"2023-06-09T17:48:54","date_gmt":"2023-06-09T17:48:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.trincoll.edu\/cher\/community-learning\/community-learning-research-fellows\/"},"modified":"2026-04-01T15:24:19","modified_gmt":"2026-04-01T15:24:19","slug":"clrf","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.trincoll.edu\/cher\/community-learning\/clrf\/","title":{"rendered":"Community Learning Research Fellows"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In the Community Learning Research Fellows (CLRF) Trinity students collaborate with a Hartford-area community partner and a faculty sponsor on a research or creative project that benefits the partner\u2019s organization.<\/p>\n<p>Accepted students will enroll in a weekly seminar (for 0.5 credits) and an independent study\/course\/internship\/thesis with a faculty sponsor (for 0.5 or more credits). Fellows also attend Common Hour events, and publicly present their projects at the end of the semester. Each project will receive a $250 expense grant to support the work, and faculty sponsors receive a $1,000 expense grant or stipend for participating and supervising one student and an additional $500 per student if working with a pair or small group.<\/p>\n<p>In Community Learning Research Fellows project, students might:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>conduct interviews with participants on their experiences with a program<\/li>\n<li>create charts and maps to illustrate the impact of a public policy issue<\/li>\n<li>design a public history project to tell a story about change over time<\/li>\n<li>expand on a research idea that emerged in a prior community-learning course<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Students may apply individually or as a small team, and must either propose their own project in collaboration with a Hartford-area partner or choose from the options below. \u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/forms.gle\/bFekC79yrNtVNioV7\">Applications are due here by April 10th. <\/a>Contact <a href=\"mailto:erna.alic@trincoll.edu\">Erna Alic,<\/a> program director, to discuss your ideas and make connections with potential partners and faculty.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In the Community Learning Research Fellows (CLRF) Trinity students collaborate with a Hartford-area community partner and a faculty sponsor on a research or creative project that benefits the partner\u2019s organization.
