Learn more about <a href=\"https:\/\/www.trincoll.edu\/cher\/community-learning\/cact\/community-action-gateway-courses\/\">CACT courses here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The Community Action Gateway is a good fit for students who:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Value working collaboratively and in community to advance social change and social justice<\/li>\n<li>Want to learn more about Hartford and ways to work alongside community partners as a student at Trinity College<\/li>\n<li>Are interested in the ways in which their background and positionality shape their engagement with people, organizations, and communities<\/li>\n<li>Want to gain experience using research and communications to help local organizations with their social change work<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"ms-rteElement-P\">By participating in the Gateway, students will:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Learn about different ways of creating social change through experiential learning projects<\/li>\n<li>Design and execute community-based research and social impact projects related to education; housing; economic development; language, culture, and identity; and social inequality<\/li>\n<li>Develop skills to identify and develop solutions to pressing social challenges<\/li>\n<li>Become part of a dedicated community of students, faculty, and community partners committed to social change in and beyond Hartford<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Questions about the gateway can be directed to <a href=\"mailto:gabby.nelson@trincoll.edu\">Gabby Nelson.<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Community Action Gateway (CACT) offers first-year Trinity College students the opportunity to engage with Hartford&#8217;s communities through community-based research and social change projects.
