This elegantly designed typeface can be used as an accent in headlines and for small elements in layouts. In its lighter weights, whether used in all caps or sentence case, it has a more formal feel. When used in its heavier weights, it reveals a playful tone. Its fluid yet geometric structure and sharp serifs create a distinct textural contrast to Degular.<\/p>\n<p>The typeface Mestiza was chosen in part to its similarity to the typeface found on classroom doors on Trinity\u2019s campus. They have similarities between the sharp serifs and swooping letterforms. Mestiza also has some letterforms that reflect the elegant curves of the wooden arches found in the Long Walk classrooms.<\/p>\n<p>Acceptable font weights:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Light<\/li>\n<li>Light Italic<\/li>\n<li>Regular<\/li>\n<li>Regular Italic<\/li>\n<li>Medium<\/li>\n<li>Bold<\/li>\n<li>Bold Italic<\/li>\n<li>Black<\/li>\n<li>Black Italic<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>United Sans Condensed<\/h2>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-196\" src=\"https:\/\/www.trincoll.edu\/branding\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/140\/2022\/08\/United-Sans-Condensed-300x125.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"166\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.trincoll.edu\/branding\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/140\/2022\/08\/United-Sans-Condensed-300x125.png 300w, https:\/\/www.trincoll.edu\/branding\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/140\/2022\/08\/United-Sans-Condensed-1024x426.png 1024w, https:\/\/www.trincoll.edu\/branding\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/140\/2022\/08\/United-Sans-Condensed-768x320.png 768w, https:\/\/www.trincoll.edu\/branding\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/140\/2022\/08\/United-Sans-Condensed.png 1370w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/>United Sans Condensed is an accent type family that we use for callouts and labels. Its rigid and collegiate character adds a texture to our compositions not found in our other typefaces. Use it sparingly with our with our other brand fonts to create contrast within a headline, label, or factoid.<\/p>\n<p>Acceptable font weights:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Light<\/li>\n<li>Medium<\/li>\n<li>Bold<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Alternate System Fonts<\/h2>\n<p>Our brand typefaces may not always be available to everyone for use in Word documents, PowerPoint presentations, and other digital applications. In these situations, use the alternate fonts listed here, which are freely available on all computers.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Arial is the acceptable substitute for Degular<\/li>\n<li>Georgia is the acceptable substitute for Mestiza<\/li>\n<li>For designs in Canva: <strong>Martel<\/strong> (ultralight, regular, bold, and heavy) and <strong>Alegreya Sans<\/strong> (thin, regular, bold, and black)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Access to Brand Typefaces<\/h2>\n<p>Departments creating their own\u00a0marketing pieces will have to purchase the typefaces for their individual offices\/computer or use the secondary, open source typefaces (Arial and Georgia) that are freely available on all computer systems.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.myfonts.com\/collections\/mestiza-font-antonio-lechuga\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Purchase Mestiza<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/fonts.adobe.com\/fonts\/degular\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Purchase Degular<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/ohnotype.co\/fonts\/degular\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Alternative source for Degular<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/housefonts.com\/hi\/united_sans\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Purchase United Sans Condensed<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Note<\/h4>\n<p>Our approved brand typefaces don\u2019t include the full range of weights from these font families.
